Turtles
Happy May! We are enjoying playing outside in the warm weather!
The first week in May we will talk about the human body, and of course,
remember our moms on Mother’s Day! We will also discuss dinosaurs
this month, as well as transportation and animals “down at the pond”.
Happy Mother’s Day to all our Turtle Moms and Grandmoms!
Ms. Kathy, Ms.Flossiena, Mr. Rob
Pandas
The Pandas welcomed April with a look at the many joys of Spring! We learned
about clouds, plants, and nature in springtime. Later, we talked about staying
healthy and learned to enjoy some new and exotic fruits. Thanks to our many
family members who visited us during the Week of the Young Child. We loved
having you! In May we’ll celebrate Mother’s Day and look ahead
to summer fun. The last day for the Pandas is Thursday, May 29th for 3 year
olds and Friday, May 30th for the 4 year olds. Look for details about our
year end festivities in your mailbox very soon!
Ms. Liz, Ms. Pat, Ms. Emily
Koalas
We would like to thank all of the chaperones for going with
us to the Zoo. We had a blast! We will be working on a Mother’s Day
gift, having fun with big and small animals in the ocean. We would like to
wish all of our moms a Happy Mother’s Day!
Ms. Patty, Ms. Kim, Ms. Sarah
Hoppers
We began April by learning about insects. Lilly’s mom brought us a
“Ladybug Land” and we were surprised to learn that they go through
metamorphosis, like caterpillars! We had a wonderful Week of the Young Child,
with many special parent visitors to our class. Thank you to everyone for
enriching our days! (If you couldn’t make it that week, you’re
welcome any time!) We also talked about zoo animals, in preparation for our
Zoo trip… what fun! Thanks to all the chaperones! We ended April and
began May with our Wacky Week! We’ll also talk about Mothers and then
fairy tales in May, putting our dramatic abilities to good use as we act out
the stories. Enjoy the beautiful Spring!

Dragons A
Wow, May is here already! April was a month filled with science activities
like watching a real butterfly lifecycle and planting grass. We also learned
about the solar system and ate astronaut food! Now that May is here, we’ll
spend time talking about the zoo and farm since our field trips are at the
end of the month! Don’t forget to turn in your permission slips! A big
thank you to Brynn’s mom for the yummy strawberries and Charlotte’s
mom for the great doughnuts! We really enjoyed them!

Dragons 1
We began the month learning about different types of weather.
We then learned about planting and growing flowers, herbs, and vegetables.
We even panted our own tomato plant for the classroom, as well as herbs for
each of the children. We spent Earth Day collecting trash around Hillcrest
property and talking about the importance of recycling. We finished the month
exploring the life cycle of a butterfly. We’re looking forward to our
trip to the Zoo and the farm scheduled for May. We would like to wish all
mothers a Happy Mother’s Day!
Ms. Meigan, Ms. Rosemary, Ms. Terry, Ms. Steph, Ms. Mary Jane
Chameleons
April was a fun and busy month for the Chameleons! We made a pointillism
bird and painted Earth pictures and rainbows. We even started planting herbs!
May projects will be more on planting, butterflies, and enjoying more outside
time! We will also make a Mother’s Day surprise! Happy Spring!
Ms. Pat, Ms. Kelli
Foxes
We can’t believe it’s May already and Spring is in full bloom.
In April we did projects on butterflies, Spring, and April showers. In May
we’ll work on our top secret Mother’s Day projects, and do projects
on the farm, zoo, and under the sea. We would like to welcome Ms. Mary Jane
who will be working in our classroom when Ms. Ashley goes on maternity leave.
We also hope Ms. Amy has a good summer in Ocean City, as she’ll be leaving
in May as well.
Ms. Ashley, Ms. Amy
Hornets
It’s hard to believe that the end of the school year is coming so
quickly! May will be spent focusing on springtime, animals, environmental
awareness, and top secret Mother’s Day projects. We’re spending
more time outside, so homework is being started a little later. Please be
sure to apply or bring sunscreen, as we spend all of Friday afternoons outside!
We hope everyone enjoys the sunshine!
Ms. Lizz, Ms. Jen
