“The aim and final end of all music should be none other than the glory of God and the refreshment of the soul.” Johann Sebastian Bach (1685-1750) The component of music in worship is extremely important to us. Music is a way to focus or convey our thoughts and desires when sometimes words might fail us. Incorporated into our life at CPC is a multi-dimensional music program. There’s not one style of music that we use in our programs. We sing the old hymns and the new ones, the children’s choir sings during worship and the choir offers special music at Christmastime and Easter. Our handbell choir plays frequently throughout the year and the children play the hand-chimes. CHANCEL CHOIR Why some members sing in the
choir: “I loved the camaraderie of choir…I find I feel the spirit more often when we raise our praises to the Lord in song.” – P. Carr “I consider artistry, especially musicianship, as a form of worship and thanksgiving to God. It's some gift-given ability to give back and enhance the worship experience.” – R. Cary
