Welcoming the Whole Family of God

PRESBYTERIAN WOMEN

The program year for Presbyterian Women starts in September

PURPOSE
Forgiven and freed by God in Jesus Christ and empowered by the Holy Spirit, we commit ourselves:

  • to nurture our faith through prayer and Bible study,
  • to support the mission of the church worldwide,
  • to work for justice and peace, and
  • to build an inclusive, caring community of women that strengthens the Presbyterian Church (USA) and witnesses to the promise of God's kingdom.

Women may belong to circles which meet each month (except during the summer) in members' homes or at the church for fellowship, Bible study, and service. There are morning, noon, and evening circles. Three times a year the women meet together at the church for special programs.

Women whose time does not permit them to meet in circles, may be members-at-large, participating in all activities and attending circle meetings whenever possible.

Presbyterian Women support a variety of missions locally and world-wide such as Catonsville Emergency Food Ministries and the Presbyterian Women's Thank Offering and Birthday Offering. A dedicated Involvement Action Committee provides ways of giving or taking action at each monthly circle meeting.

Women of all ages are invited to join the Presbyterian Women in the Catonsville Presbyterian Church.

Special Events:

Gifts for the Christ Child: Alternative Gifts to Honor Jesus' Birth: On Monday December 3 at 7 PM women of the church and their friends are invited to Fellowship Hall to hear Don Padgett speak about Interchurch Medical Assistance and Ted Heun speak about the proposed Santi School in Nepal. Bring an item of underwear or warm clothing for the Cold Weather Shelter and also an item representing the memory of an alternative gift you have given or received. The evening will feature freshly brewed tea, dessert, and the lively music of Fiddlin' Around, the new Irish folk group. Presbyterian Women will be collecting their annual Thank Offering and learn about one of its missions. For more information contact Ann Green, moderator of Presbyterian Women.

A “Glove Affair” for Women: All women of Catonsville Presbyterian Church are invited to tea on Monday, October 22, at 7:30 p.m. in fellowship hall. Wear a hat – fancy or ball cap – and gloves for a change and enjoy a dessert tea, music, and laughter with Presbyterian Women. We’d like to get to know you better and tell you about our favorite PW activities. Linda Hernandez is chairing this event.
